Chris Collis Mastering

Mastering is the final creative and technical step in the production process.
I carry out detailed, focused listening and make sure your music translates across phone speakers, headphones, car stereos, club systems, and streaming platforms. I prepare the final deliverables for distribution, including track sequencing, fades and transitions, metadata, and correct file formatting.
I bring the perspective of a working musician and mastering engineer - with over 25 years of playing, recording, touring, and listening. I try to follow a simple rule - if something is already working and sounding great, I will not change it. Less is almost always more.
How we get there
Tell me about the record
Send over the release details, any notes you have, any references you'd like me to listen to, and anything you are unsure about in your mix.
Send me the mixes
Once the quote is agreed and paid, you can upload the approved mixes from your private project page.
Mastering begins
The mastering work is guided by what is needed. I'm not trying to change your mix. I'm trying to reveal what is already good within it.
You review the masters
You receive a private Samply link for approval listening. If you aren't happy with something, please tell me. I work on this until you are totally happy.
Final masters delivered
After approval, the final masters are delivered separately on your project page as release-ready files.
